Swelling in Face or Jaw for Alamo Families
Alamo sits right off Business 83 between Donna and San Juan, and our office at 1449 W. Duranta Ave. is tucked a block south of the Expressway 83 frontage road near the Alamo Community Center. Families from the surrounding colonias — Las Milpas, Citrus City, and the neighborhoods off Tower Road and Alamo Road — come in with facial or jaw swelling that started as a toothache and escalated overnight. Many work shifts in packinghouses along the FM 495 corridor or commute into McAllen, so swelling that shows up Friday afternoon often means a weekend without care if it's not caught same-day. We see it across all ages: school-age kids from PSJA ISD, parents juggling bilingual paperwork through a spouse's PPO, and abuelos whose swelling has been brewing for days. Our Saturday hours exist for exactly these cases — a swollen jaw on a weekend shouldn't mean an ER bill when a drainage and a prescription solve it.
